Cover Reveal

Ok, my first thoughts upon first seeing it: Umm...it's ok, but I'm not loving it like the other first two book from this series. I will explain why in a moment but, please look at the other covers and compare it to this one above

...do you see my point?
I actually ADORE Until I Die's and Die for Me's covers! They both are gorgeous but, I can't quite tell you why I love these covers better than the third one's. I would probably say I don't like the heart shaped swirls on  If I should Die. I liked how the swirls on the first two books seemed natural( that is the only word I could think of) and the third one's seems...fake. Also I hate the color yellow but I shouldn't use that as a reason because it is unfair. Although, I do LIKE If I should Die, I'm just not feeling the same love as I do for the first two books.

My First Review( so don't make fun of my attempt): Eon

Eon (Eon, #1)
Author:Alison Goodman
Page number:531 pages
Publisher:Viking
Source: Borrowed from a friend

Description:
Sixteen-year-old Eon has a dream, and a mission. For years, he's been studying sword-work and magic, toward one end. He and his master hope that he will be chosen as a Dragoneye-an apprentice to one of the twelve energy dragons of good fortune.

But Eon has a dangerous secret. He is actually Eona, a sixteen-year-old girl who has been masquerading as a twelve-year-old boy. Females are forbidden to use Dragon Magic; if anyone discovers she has been hiding in plain sight, her death is assured.

When Eon's secret threatens to come to light, she and her allies are plunged into grave danger and a deadly struggle for the Imperial throne. Eon must find the strength and inner power to battle those who want to take her magic...and her life.

Review:
Well, let me think for a bit about what to say... ok back to reviewing. I had heard of this book a while back and I thought it sounded very exciting. So, when one of my friends told me she had it, I was squealing with happiness and joy. I loved the cover of it, the plot sounded very adventurous, and it just appealed to my tastes. I started reading the book and was immediately drawn into the fast-paced beginning. They start it out with their practices for the Dragoneye apprentices. She introduces all the characters along the way very well and all the moves in fighting precisely.  I could imagine all the characters in my mind fighting, that is how well she describes things in this book. She also tells the story of Eon or rather Eona. So, just to tell all you who may or may not be reading this, that I loved the beginning. But...(yes there is indeed a but)... towards the 200 pages the story was falling a bit flat for me. I guess the pacing started slowing down and I got a bit bored, though I would not say that are no twists at all along the way. Probably the main thing that kept me reading was to see what happens when everyone finds out she's a girl. And trust me I was not disappointed about that part of the story! But, the good thing is, it started improving again around the last 100 pages and it was exciting again. The ending was MAGNIFICENT! I love, love, loved the ending!( and I was quite glad that I already had Eona laying around because it just made me want to read it all the more!) I recommend this book if you enjoy a descriptive, complex, and adventurous novel.( Note: If you do not enjoy long, complex novels this book is not for you)

My rating:4/5
