So, today is my birthday.
What's a weird thing about birthdays is that the actual day doesn't feel any different than the last or I've never been especially excited about them. Probably the most exciting thing about them is the build-up to them. Anyways, going past the nostalgic stuff, in celebration of my birthday, I will be telling you 8 interesting facts about myself that you might or might not have known about me. I'm choosing 8 because I am not coming up with 17-the age I'm turning this year- facts about myself(I'm not nearly interesting enough), so I'm choosing 8 since that's the day of the month I was born on. Don't mind that incredibly long run-on sentence...I'm allowed to do that on my birthday.
1. I am a fantasy nut. This is a very general statement about myself, but I find it fitting 'cause books.
But I want to extend this statement to movies as well-I love watching movies in fantasy lands too. Bookish fantasy lands will always be better though. Books are better than movies!
2. I used to have really, really long hair when I was younger. Yes, the weird facts will be appearing in...3...2...1. I had long hair( to my waist) until the summer before 7th grade when I cut it off pixie-short. Another quick fact: the day I cut it all off, I cried, because that is how much I loved my hair.
3. I have a life-long dream to travel around the world. This is such a common "bucket list" type of thing, but I honestly do want to see the whole world. The longest vacation I was ever on was a week-long trip to Texas in third grade; obviously, I hope my vacations in the future will be better. I just really, really want to see what the world has to offer.
4. I have a twin sister. I've talked about having a twin sister every now and then over the years, but this is the first time I've ever talked about it on the blog. Well now you know for sure! She's also my awesome best friend-I would actually pick the title of "best friend" before "sister." Is that weird?
5. Autumn is my favorite time of the year. Winter is a really close second, but autumn beats it by a bit. It's such a gorgeous season, with all the brilliant-colored leaves on the ground. It's also my favorite season temperature-wise; perfect time to break out the boots and coats!
6. I'm a night owl. Enough said.
7. I also happen to love chocolate. I have a horrible sweet tooth in general...cakes, donuts, whatever. Candy is my next best friend in the planet though. I don't think I could live without chocolate.
8. I love Yorkshire terriers. I have grown up surrounded by Yorkshire terriers, and they have definitely made me love their adorable ways. I have my own dog named Dahlia, and she's a sweetie(but one of the shyest dogs I've encountered in my days).
(See, they are adorable.)
Whoo, that was more difficult than it looks! This is why I hate talking about myself.
Of course, what would be a celebration without a giveaway?
In honor of my birthday, I want to giveaway a highly-coveted ARC of this year: The Wrath and the Dawn. I read it and really, really enjoyed it, so I'm sharing my ARC! Please read my giveaway rules before entering this giveaway! Should I mention that my ARC is "signed" too?

Our birthdays are 8 days apart!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I haven't really had a decent birthday in a long time. But for the past five years, I have encountered a set of twins that share my birthday at least once a year. I grew up with one of these sets of twins, and then I met another 5 random sets throughout NJ/NYC with the same birthday in super weird coincidences throughout the years. I think that's a bizarre birthday experience, no? Twins follow me everywhere it seems ;)
I never had a "bizarre" birthday experience before, but I did have an interesting one, the one in 2014 in fact! My birthday was the exact same day the Catching Fire movie was released AND the Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby games were released. It was one fabulous birthday. ;D<3
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday (again)!! As for bizarre birthday experiences...well I haven't really done anything for the majority of them so no experiences I can share yet :P
ReplyDeleteAlso much love for your GIFS (HOW DO YOU FIND THEM?! And that Kristen Bell one is amazing)
ReplyDeleteI can't think of a bizarre birthday, but I'm sure I've had one. Does it count that I was the 2nd biggest baby in the hospital when I was born? It's a meaningless accolade, but I'll take it :P
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Great post and great giveaway! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think i've had a bizarre birthday but one of the funniest is when I was in elementary school I had a birthday sleepover with a huge tent in my backyard and we were playing tag and I ran through the mud and I ended up slipping and flying into the air and landing right in the mud! I was covered in mud!
ReplyDeleteKIERRRAAAAAAA.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY! *THROWS ALL THE CONFETTI + SWEETS AT YOU*
I love Autumn, but I wish there was more oranges where I live, but alas, nope. You can't really season the seasons change.
NIGHT OWL FTW!
I don't have any bizarre birthday experiences. At least, not that I remember. Lol.
Hey thank you for the opportunity. This book looks awesome (Romance lower fantasy here :). Happy birthday :)

About my most bizarre birthday experience, well I guess I don't have one but one day, actually it was 4 days ago since it was my birthday the 10th february, my parents found it was funny to write me a card and in the card they had fun creating a car licence just to remind me I had to pass my car license -_-. Thanks you mom and dad for the present ahah
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you have a twin! And I'm also a fan of fantasy and chocolate ^_^ My birthdays are never particularly crazy or extravagant... it falls the day after Independence Day, so most people aren't even around to celebrate. But that's okay. I can't complain :D
ReplyDeleteThank you! And happy birthday, yo!
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
Happy birthday! I wish you more books to come. :D
ReplyDeleteWell..I don't have any bizarre birthdays. But I do feel different on my birthdays..because I don't feel like it's my birthday. LOL Bizarre enough. XD
Happy Birthday!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a really bizarre story of a birthday or anything... but one year we had a BBQ near a beach and everyone went in the water in their underwear since no one brought a swimsuit? hah
Happy (super) belated birthday!!!
ReplyDeleteI used to have really, really long hair too. I don't think I could ever cut it into a pixie cut, though. D:
I don't think I've ever had a bizarre birthday experience. . . . The closest to it happened on my most recent one. I bought a book as a random gift for my friend, but I barely got anything for myself.
Happy belated birthday! I would love to travel the world too. Wow, it's so awesome you have a twin, I've always wanted a twin. It's great you have such an amazing friendship with her.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if this is as bizarre as it is sad, but I went to a funeral on my birthday a few years ago.
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!!!! I don't have any most bizarre birthday experience because I only ever see my family on my birthday lol!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Oh, I had no bizzare cases :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have had a bizarre birthday experience before. The most bizarre it would get would be boring or doing nothing but staying at home.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Thank you for this amazing chance! :)
Happy Birthday 🎉🎉 May books always overflow your shelves! Thank you for the giveaway as well. I've wanted to read this book for a long time and it's release date is still too far away. My birthday isn't until late April. I've never had "bizarre" bday experiences except to say that mine always falls during test time at school. So for the past 21 years if my bday was on a weekday I probably had finals 😩
ReplyDeleteHappy (ridiculously belated) birthday!! As for bizarre birthday experiences... hm. I usually have bizarre stories, but I am having trouble coming up with birthday-specific ones! When I turned 19, we were at a swim meet, and all the guys from the team thought it would be funny to give me random food that they found around the pool area (snacks that people had brought, stuff from vending machines... they were weird). One birthday, my friends and I decided to talk a walk in the woods and ended up wading through a creek (not smart in November in PA!)... OH- the best birthday was the year I found out I was pregnant with my daughter (obviously, best birthday present ever). And this year, Mockingjay will be released the night of my birthday, so that's a win (and I am convinced it is some kind of gift from the universe/Lionsgate, even though that is obviously not true).
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the giveaway, and I hope you had a wonderful day :)
I can't think of any bizarre birthday experiences, but one of the coolest birthday parties I ever had included a puppeteer and a treasure hunt.
