"Waiting On" Wednesday(#5):Mila 2.0

"Waiting on Wednesday" is a meme created by Jill at Breaking the Spine that features books yet to be released that we're really looking forward to. This week my book is "Mila 2.0."
MILA 2.0 (MILA 2.0, #1)
Title:Mila 2.0
Author:Debra Driza
Released:March 12, 2013
Publisher:Katherine Tegen Books

From Goodreads:
Mila 2.0 is the first book in an electrifying sci-fi thriller series about a teenage girl who discovers that she is an experiment in artificial intelligence.

Mila was never meant to learn the truth about her identity. She was a girl living with her mother in a small Minnesota town. She was supposed to forget her past —that she was built in a secret computer science lab and programmed to do things real people would never do.

Now she has no choice but to run—from the dangerous operatives who want her terminated because she knows too much and from a mysterious group that wants to capture her alive and unlock her advanced technology. However, what Mila’s becoming is beyond anyone’s imagination, including her own, and it just might save her life.

Mila 2.0 is Debra Driza’s bold debut and the first book in a Bourne Identity–style trilogy that combines heart-pounding action with a riveting exploration of what it really means to be human. Fans of I Am Number Four will love Mila for who she is and what she longs to be—and a cliffhanger ending will leave them breathlessly awaiting the sequel.

Thoughts:
This sounds amazing, of course, since the description does the exact thing it is supposed to do: draw in the readers. The first thing that caught my attention when reading the desciption was: electrifying sci-fi thriller. I love sci-fi thrillers! I kinda really like all types of YA books, but sci-fi thriller is definitely on the top of the list. But, basically, the plot sounded very creative and the idea of it sounded great. So, that is my thoughts about the book! Also! I absolutely LOVE the cover.  It is just so creative and cool! I mean, there are pieces of her skin( I'm not sure how else to describe it) swirling around!

  1. Oh, I adore sci-fi thrillers too! And yes, that is one striking summary -- and a cover to go with it. I think it's rather odd that they said "a cliffhanger ending" in the summary, though. Is that really customary? Or maybe they wanted to prepare readers? XP

  2. I can't wait to read this! I've seen quite a few sci-fi thrillers pop up on people's WoWs today. A new trend, perhaps? If so, I totally approve. :D
I do agree with Eden about the "cliffhanger ending". I'm not sure it's really necessary to put it in the summary!
