Hello, today. Sorry I have been slightly MIA, lately. But, to make up for that, I am doing a discussion, where I can ramble on and on!
Let us discuss: cover changes.
Cover changes, for me, are kind of annoying.
I mean, let's say you buy a book that you have been way too entirely excited to read, and you LOVED LOVED that book's cover. Then, a year later, the publishers decided that they wanted to re-design the cover. What?!
I'm sorry, but I usually get pissed off at those pubs! I still love them, don't worry, but why did they have to change the cover, and now I have to buy the new book so it can match the whole series!
I have this idea that publishers want to make more money off these books by re-designing the cover. This is just my idea, nothing serious, and I have no proof. But, haven't you seen bookish people complain that they now have to go off and spend more money on the book. Hmm...it sounds a bit suspicious.
But, those are my feelings about cover changes. And if you don't believe me about the whole cover change thing, here are some examples:
What's your thoughts on cover changes?
I definitely agree with you! There are even new covers for Harry Potter! Like no! But Shatter Me I didn't mind I felt like it was more symbolic than the old girl in a pretty dress but the new Across the Universe is just ugly especially after the amount of love it got for the old one!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of cover changes either, but I can sometimes let it slide when it's a series I like but don't LOVE. For my favourites, changes mid-way through only annoy me! I think it's completely fine for there to be a re-design, but I think that should only happen once all the books are released. That way, people still have the option to choose.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it IS annoying, but sometimes I think the new covers are better. I loved the original Across the Universe covers, but I think the new Shatter Me covers are WAY better! Also, LOL, I freaking LOVE that Hermione gif you used. SO CUTE!
